Welcome to Young Mountain Farm, located at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains.
We have Goals
In all of our programs we have standards that we strive to reach every day. In horse camps, our goal is to create a magical experience of riding, friendship, and fun that the campers will never forget. In our riding lessons, our goal is to teach children and adults of all ages about riding in a way that is understandable and safe.
We are Different
We are one of the few barns in our area that allows casual clothing. As long as a student/camper has the proper safety gear to ride in, they can choose what they wear. We also like to stress the importance of having fun. Each lesson is unique and is formed around the personalities and abilities of the riders. While we encourage riders to push themselves and always improve, we never force riders to do exercises that make them uncomfortable.
We Understand
We realize that every child is an individual and that each one learns at his/her own pace. We make sure a child is never in an uncomfortable or unsafe situation around a horse. For those students who do no wish to ride, we provide many activities around the horses where he/she can come and join in on the fun.
We are here to Help
Patti and Phil Young are the operators of Young Mountain Farm. They put a lot of time and effort into making their farm both safe and fun for people of all ages. They also have an excellent working student staff that works to ensure the best experience for all of the students.
